Chad started his music career in the early 1990s when he joined a grunge cover band called Village Idiot with his brother, Mike Kroeger, cousin, Brandon Kroeger, and Ryan Peake. In 1995, Village Idiot evolved into Nickelback, and in 1997, Brandon decided to leave the band. For seven years, Chad Kroeger was in a common-law relationship with Marianne Goriuk before separating from each other in 2008. After they broke up, Kroeger allegedly paid Goriuk spousal support in the amounts of $25,000 per month.
