The most popular messaging app WhatsApp adds new features to the app for android, ios, and desktop platforms. It also worked on several features in beta, some of which make it more stable.

Some of the upcoming features of Whatsapp include a dark mode, hide the status, and lock the Whatsapp app. The dark mode is the feature on which Whatsapp is still working on. Now take a look at different features of Whatsapp which make it more interesting and convenient.

Dark Mode:

Dark mode on Whatsapp has been rumored since years. With dark mode turn on Whatsapp, there is a dark grey colored background. The icons and headings are all highlighted in green color while the subtext is visible in white color.

This upcoming feature of Whatsapp feature is not available on beta for WhatsApp yet. There is no official release but it would be much need UI change. The dark mode is available on apps like Messenger, Youtube, and Twitter.

Hide online status:

Whatsapp gives users the maximum number of possibilities of privacy. User can hide his last seen on Whatsapp. This feature would give users complete control over their activities on the Whatsapp app. 

Full-size images:

Now, Whatsapp is the easiest and convenient platform to send the photo. Over the years, WhatsApp has improved photo sharing with albums and increasing the number of photos. But still, one thing remains constant i.e. image resolution. Whatsapp automatically reduces the file size of the image which reduces the resolution. While this makes for faster file sharing.

Cross-platform backup:

Using the same upcoming features of Whatsapp account in a different device are pretty easy and simple. Users can back up their chats and restore them on the next device they switch to. But there is an issue to switch from android and ios phone. On Android, Whatsapp chat is backed on Google Drive and iCloud for iPhone users. 

For users who try to switch from android to iPhone or vice versa, they lose their all backup chats. Since Apple is pretty strict with user data that chats are saved only on icloud. 

Whatsapp pay:

Whatsapp started testing UPI based payment in India. It is still running on beta. Todays sending and receiving message is as easy and simple as sharing an image. Whatsapp plans to roll out its payment system globally.
