It’s always interesting when reading about Alexa’s Page Rank, Google Page Rank and Technorati. Today, I am writing about Alexa again through my experience on internet searching and blog walking. If you noticed, it’s my third posts write about Alexa which first and second post been published last month.
I almost can’t make any different between Alexa Page Rank and site traffic as it’s closely related. The indication of Alexa page rank is; lower number, higher rank. When you have high traffic to your site means that your Alexa page rank also high (look at this example; 1000000 is higher than 2000000 , 500000 even higher).

O ya, before I continue writing, I wanted to let you know that my page rank increase from 26 millions to 11 millions. Does it consider high rank? No, no, no that's not. Actually, I just sifted from http://sundapost.blogspot.com with PR 1.8 millions to http://www.eblogtalk.com last week. I guess the PR increasing is because of my content which some of them review about Alexa.
So, here are most common ways to increase Alexa page rank:
What is the benefit with high Page Rank site? Your site will visible on Search Engine (top 10 list is best result), when surfer type a certain keywords on search box, and match to what they are looking for, they will possibly visit your site. When other internet surfer does the same thing will be more visitors to your site, what we called high traffic which you can utilize your site to market your products, personal, organization, company purpose and also your popularity. Hi Dede! I am always interested with articles about Alexa and Google ranking. =D Sometimes I can get too obsessed with how my Alexa rank, but actually we shouldn't be too concerned though, cos Alexa ranking is based on those visitors who have Alexa toolbar installed in their browser, right? In other words, most of our visitors do not install Alexa toolbar! But then, we do feel good to see our Alexa ranking improves hehehe
The lower your Alexa ranks, the more frequent it updates but slower (eg. instead of a sharp jump in millions, it only reduces in thousands when your ranking gets below 500k, I think), unless you have a few hundred visitors per day, it will improve alot within a short period (say a few days). That's my experience based on how I observed my Alexa ranking over the past 3 mths.
I know some bloggers are very hardworking blog hoppers and they get Alexa as good as below 200k. But then, if they don't blog hop, traffic doesn't come naturally and Alexa will increase again. So, I still believe we should write good articles and do our SEO.
I feel that good Alexa should fall below top 100,000. But I heard that you can fake Alexa traffic too, however, not interested in that cos we will never know how well we rank.

Frankly speaking, based on your site, I think you deserve a better Alexa ranking. My sis has a 2-mth old blog with around 20 posts about her daily life in her university. Based on what she has, her Alexa ranking is 3million already, with PR 2. Sometimes I really wonder how come she has such a traffic cos she doesn't always blog and she doesn't blog hop!! So for such a young blog, her rankings are considered quite good. This is her blog

Hi eunice, hehehee that’s the longest ever comment that received. I appreciate your concern and time. Oh ya, writing about Alexa is one of many free methods to increase our PR , if i am not wrong, we can increase our pr by paying company who deals with it. Honestly i don’t know how Alexa.com rank other people website and how its work. But I really feel that there was increment on my previous blog after writing the article. I am sure you might know that SEO can also be manipulated to increase PR with some mate tag or something that i don’t familiar with that. I am happy if my blog pr increase naturally because if contents base. As you mention earlier that blogging need a passion. Other than that we also have to be consistent add updated content frequently. Btw, I visited your sister’s blog today,….hehehehee another great blog online now..hava a good day eunice…

Hi f474r; you will get more traffic from SEO as surfer type certain keywords related to your web content, if your blog is monetize blog it will be lot of opportunity to make it some money...

Used Alexa, Quantcast, and Google Analytics on sites I've run for years. Each gave different numbers for traffic, often by as much as 25%. And the Alexa and Quantcast numbers for the same site were often different by an order of magnitude.
I've had "top 10" pages in Google, but all this shifts every time Google tweaks its algorithms.
Basically, I just try to write content that people will love, and come back to see more of. The rest is just a black box. Or if you prefer, we're blind men trying to figure out what the elephant is by touching this or that part of it.

@aoi; i agree with you. Writing about Alexa is one of many ways to increase PR. But content is a king. Most of readers visiting our site because of it. To me, the most important thing is whether my blog is useful for other? From that i can see the growth. thanks again Aoi.

U see, I am so addicted to ranking thingy that my IT expert tells me not to be so concerned about all these stuff heheheh.

I think for your kind of monetizing blog, you need to put in effort on SEO, and write the hottest content to create a surge in your traffic. Again, it depends on what kind of traffic you want. I hardly ever mentioned about this, but when I first started blogging, thinking of ways to create traffic, I posted alot of questions and answers in Yahoo Answers. That's a good traffic you know, for a beginner, I could get 50 visitors in an hour. But why I stopped doing that, becos you only get passerbys most of the time.But then for a new start, to get better ranking, u can try Yahoo Answers. =P Yahoo Answers are very highly ranked in search results when people ask a question in search engines like Google. Remember to leave ur url when u answer or ask a question, if not, everything is wasted. =P

we need some times on every efforts in our life. just like farming, started from only single seed, until you get thousand even millions seeds end of the day and we need some kind of process in between. there are nothing that we can get instantly, unless winning a lottery?
Page rank, alexa and google all kind thing that related to blogging are always interesting to be discussed.
oh ya, that for info on Yahoo Answers things, i will have a look on it,..
